1. Overview
The terms and working conditions and medical examinations of seafarers working on ships flying Cyprus flag are regulated by legislation.

2. Prerequisites
The conclusion of an employment contract between a seafarer and a shipowner specifying matters as recorded in the relevant legislation, such as contract duration, earnings, licences, early termination, repatriation, compensation, etc.

3. Certificates
A certificate of medical examination is issued by approved doctors.

4. Legal Reference
Law 6(III)/2012 - The International Maritime Labour Convention of 2006 (Ratification and Related Matters Law) of 2012.
