The Cyprus Register of Ships has achieved an impressive rise from 13th place in 2022 to 8th place in the Paris MoU White List, a list representing quality flags with a consistently low detention history. This proves that the Cyprus Register of Ships maintains high quality and safety standards for ships flying the Cyprus flag.

The Paris MoU Committee approved at its 56th meeting, the adoption of the new performance lists of Flag States and Recognized Organizations (ROs).

The ranking in the list is based on the number of inspections and detentions carried out within a specific period of time and the assessment of the safety and quality of ships. By rising to 8th place, Cyprus proves to be of higher quality than all competing registers operating under the same regime (open registers).

This rise reflects the efforts Cyprus has made to improve its inspection and control practices, enhances the reputation and credibility of the Cyprus Register of Ships and recognises the efforts made to ensure the safety and quality of ships.

In addition to Cyprus, other countries with high quality registers, such as Denmark, Italy, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Singapore, Finland, Belgium and the United Kingdom are also included in the top ten of the White List.

These lists will take effect from 1 July 2023.
