The Shipping Deputy Minister to the President, Ms. Marina Hadjimanolis, is travelling today to Athens where, on Tuesday 5 March, the Shipping Deputy Ministry will organise an event to mark the 60th anniversary since the establishment of the Registry of Cyprus Ships. The event will be attended by the Greek maritime community, which has supported and contributed substantially to the development of the Cyprus flag. During her stay in Athens, Ms. Hadjimanolis will hold meetings with the shipping and ship-owning community of Greece, within the framework of promoting the Registry of Cyprus Ships.

The Shipping Deputy Minister will then travel to Brussels, following an invitation by the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU to participate in the Brussels Conference on the Wellbeing of Seafarers, which will be held on 8 March. During her stay in Brussels, Ms. Hadjimanolis will hold bilateral meetings with other Ministers who will also participate in the conference, and will have the opportunity to present Cyprus's position on attracting young people to the maritime profession, as well as the inclusion of women in the maritime sector in general.
