Zhenjiang DH Marine brand winch brakes - model DW34F - covered by certificate no.2020-031-MED are subject to a design defect
The davit winch brakes of the make and type covered by certificate no. 2020-031-MED (item MED/1.41 a, d) have very recently been the subject of a malfunction report to the French flag, attested during the requiring tests prior to the vessel commissioning. The elements communicated to the French marine surveillance authority demonstrate a design defect in this equipment, which could expose users to a risk of serious injury during the periodic lifeboat and rescue boat launching exercises conducted in accordance with the provisions of article 221-III-19 (SOLAS, Chap. III, Reg.19). Prohibition measures on commercialization and on-board installation are in progress.

by the company Netwave Systems B.V. regarding a number of Netwave Systems VDR, type NW6000 that does not fully comply with the latest directive 2014/90, IR 2021/1158 (NW6000 VDR with a serial number between 212912086 up to 215112134).
